Attitudes Towards Autism

Thursday 1st August / presented by Jorja Keay

A recent national survey led by Curtin University has found that eight out of ten Australians have strong positive attitudes towards people with autism.

Published in the journal PLOS ONE, the survey asked more than 100 participants about their knowledge and social attitudes towards people living with autism.

81.6 per cent of participants had a high level of knowledge around autism and 81.3 per cent had a strong positive attitude towards autistic people.

Curtin Autism Research Group Professor Torbjorn Falkmer joined RTRFM to discuss the findings.
