Australian Heritage Festival

Friday 6th April / presented by James Hall

Anne Brake joins us to talk about The Australian Heritage Festival will launch on 18 April, International Day for Monuments and Sites. In WA, the festival will run from 18 April – 20 of May.

This year the festival is focusing on what makes every state special , encouraging everyone to embrace the future by sharing the strengths of everyone's cultural identities.

The 2018 Australian Heritage Festival theme is My Culture, My Story celebrating the diversity of cultures that have shaped our shared heritage. The Festival is an opportunity to reflect on the places where we live, work and travel and why they are memorable, celebrating our many diverse and distinctive cultures.

The Australian Heritage Festival will be launched in Western Australia with a viewing of the film Connection to Country, a moving account of the ongoing relationship Aboriginal people have with their land making a fitting link to the festival’s theme.
