Burrbgaja Yalirra (Dancing Forwards)

Burrbgaja Yalirra (Dancing Forwards) is a three-year program aimed at supporting the next generation of ‘change makers’ in contemporary intercultural and trans-disciplinary dance theatre. Through the program Marrugeku’s co-directors Dalisa Pigram and Rachael Swain will provide choreographic and dramaturgical support to a series of laboratories and new short works.

A triple bill will premiere in 2018 including dance solos for Eric Avery choreographed with Koen Augustijnen (Belgium) and Miranda Wheen, choreographed with Serge Aimé Coulibaly (Burkina Faso/Belgium) as well as a multimedia/poetry work for WA poet and painter Edwin Mulligan in collaboration with video artist Sohan Aerial Hayes.
