Cacao, Sound and Ceremony

Friday 19th July / presented by Bec Bowman Tom Reynolds

RTRFM's Bec Bowman talked with Willow and Catherine Francis on Artbeat, about their upcoming performance; Cacao, Sound and Ceremony.

Happening as a part of 10 Nights in Port, it involves a soundscape that is generally not heard: sounds of nature, Indigenous music and strong vocals. This combines with a traditional cacao drink, which contains an unprocessed 'chocolate' substance. These elements guide people into a meditative state, and Willow and Catherine Francis enlightened us about the benefits of such practices. Reverence Chocolate and Cacao Ceremonies Perth created this drink in order to help participants connect to the present, others and the overall experience.

Willow and Catherine Francis explained the arts event and how Cacao, Sound and Ceremony encourages a change in perception. We learned about the origins of this ceremony, and where the cacao comes from.
