On Air : Listen

Community radio is your friend in troubled times: RTRFM and Perth’s creative culture right now.

Thursday 19th March / posted by Chris Wheeldon

RTRFM's eclectic presenters love bringing the best music and stories into your home throughout the year. Right now, we need music, art, stories, company, and connection more than ever.

We're going to keep all that coming your way through the airwaves.Things are tricky, and the radio might sound a bit different, but our committed selectors are still pulling together the choicest cuts and we're slotting them in where you expect them to be.

We'll be live on air as much as we can, and you'll still be able to talk to us by phone, email and socials. We'll be with you.Since we're in this together, there's something we need from you.

We're funded by listeners, and these are hard times.

If you can, subscribe or donate through our website to support your best soundtrack to isolation, RTRFM 92.1.https://support.rtrfm.com.au/

RTRFM’S VIRUS RESPONSE IN BRIEF

  • RTRFM is taking steps to ensure the health and well-being of its volunteers, presenters and staff. RTRFM’s office is closed to the public from 5pm Friday 20 March but please call, email or message us.
    We’ll stay connected to you.
  • RTRFM will continue to bring you outstanding programming from our extraordinarily creative volunteer presenters, making sure you hear the best and most diverse music we can find, as well as stories from your city and beyond. You can hear us anywhere, anytime in all the modern ways.
    We’ll keep you company.
  • RTRFM sees the impact the virus prevention restrictions are having on the livelihoods of people in our treasured music and arts community. The vulnerability of music, arts and hospitality workers is a grave concern.
    We’ll help wherever possible.
  • RTRFM will continue to celebrate and support the creative culture of our city and bring you the work of musicians and artists during this crisis. Human adaptability and creativity will be key to our community’s resilience, and art will happen in unexpected ways.
    We’ll bring it to you.
  • We might spend time apart, but we will come together as a community to get through this. Keep in touch with your friends, family, neighbours, and us.
    We’ll be with you.

SHARE YOUR ‘LIVE AT HOME’ CREATIVE PERFORMANCE WITH US

  • Do it solo or get the band together at home and record a live performance of your own song, or a cover of a local tune, or a 30 minute mix from your home DJ set up. Send the audio and video to us. Send to music@rtrfm.com.au with the subject ‘Live At Home’.
    We'll share it.
