Based on stats, 2014 was the safest year in aviation history.Less accidents happened in 2014 then any other year on record, so then why was our news filled with stories of horror and lost lives.MH17 was shot out of the sky while MH370 is still missing.

Last week we saw a Germanwings plane crash in Europe and his since been revealed was at the hands of the inexperienced and troubled co-pilot.

So why do these things continue to happen? Chris Wheeldon speaks to former pilot and aviation security expert Desmond Ross about the current state of air travel and is it still safe to fly...
