Existence Theatre Presents Trespassing

Friday 8th February / presented by Bec Bowman

It's an immersive and multi-sensory experience by Existence Theatre, taking the audience on an intimate journey to celebrate the transcultural qualities inherent in contemporary society. Trespassing is based on four different female characters, who speak about the complexity of gender linked to identity, social interaction, power and oppression; about the interaction of gender with race, class, culture, religion, sexuality and consumerism.

Bec is joined in the studio for Artbeat by writer and director, Bello Benischauer, to chat about the his extensive work utilising video, sound composition, performance and writing to reflect upon socio-political issues and the individuals involved. Claire Bushby, spectrum project space coordinator, also joins to talk about her role in supporting the show and other artists working in performance and contemporary art in Perth.

The exhibition and performances will take place from Friday, 1 February to Friday, 22 February at Spectrum Project Space, Mount Lawley Ca mpus, Edith Cowan University. Tickets are available at Fringe World Festival.
