Queen of the Fringe

The Fringeworld Festival was one of the huge successes this year, for many reasons, not least of all in terms of getting people to fall back in love with their city.

70% of you that attended Fringe would have stayed home had it not been on.

It’s a pretty impressive stat, and just one to come from the Fringeworld Festival report on the economic, cultural and societal impact of the 2013 Festival.

Not only did they get the people out of their houses but also they got them more interested in the arts in geneal.

90% of people surveyed say it’s more likely they will attend more arts events in the future.

So it’s good news all round, as we congratulate the new Director of Perth’s boutique Festival, Amber Hasler, who takes over from the inimitable Marcus Canning.
