Gender Euphoria from Video Games

A new study led by Monash University researchers has revealed how video games can create gender euphoria for transgender players!

The study was conducted by four game design experts, whose lived experiences as trans women helped shape its insights, offering new pathways to joy, identity affirmation and inclusive design.

Breakfast’s Pam Boland was joined by Monash University Associate Professor Phoebe Toups Dugas, to discuss the process of the study, the reason for the study and the importance of gender euphoria being present in video games.
