Genesis of a Madman

Wednesday 11th June / presented by Peter Barr

The long-running sci-fi show Dr Who celebrated its 50th anniversary last year.

For those five decades, it’s scared the pants of people in various ways; notably through the creation of iconic creepy characters, mostly determined to either rule or destroy the universe.

In the 1975 story Genesis of the Daleks, everything changed as the character Davros appeared – mad scientist, hideously deformed, creator of the infamous Daleks.

He subsequently cropped up in the time travel adventures of the titular character many more times – it became something of a habit.

Peter spoke to the man who portrayed Davros three times in the 80s in the stories Resurrection of the Daleks, Revelation of the Daleks, and Remembrance of the Daleks – and asked him about his Recollection of the Daleks
