Good Outcomes for Mental Health

Monday 27th July / presented by Chris Wheeldon

Nominations are underway for the Mental Health Good Outcomes Awards, presented by the Mental Health Commission.

The awards recognise the individuals, groups, services, partnerships and programs across WA addressing key mental health issues and making an outstanding contribution in their daily work.

Working in the mental health field in WA is a challenge, particularly with the bed shortage at Graylands Hospital causing the emergency departments of Royal Perth and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital to become inundated with mental health patients.

Despite this, the Mental Health Commission released the Western Australian Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services Plan, aiming to improve mental health prevention, promotion & services across the state.

Mental Health Commissioner Timothy Marney joined RTRFM.
