Government to Restore Arts Funding

Tuesday 21st March / presented by Antonino Tati

Funding for Australian Arts has been on a rollercoaster ride over the last few years.

As PM, Tony Abbott sliced and diced his way through the Australia Council Catalyst program, then-Minister for the Arts George Brandis stripping more than 100 million dollars from it over four years. Some surprise news over the weekend with the incumbent Minister Mitch Fifield reinstating around 80 million dollars to the sector.

Arts Writer Ben Eltham has been following Oz Council funding for several years and joins us to shed a bit more light on the issue
