Homelessness Prevention Week

Monday 3rd August / presented by Chris Wheeldon

Thousands of people in WA are experiencing homelessness or are close to being homeless everyday, but what are we doing to combat the issue?

This week is Homelessness Prevention Week, a national week of raising awareness about homelessness and finding ways for people to prevent it.

Homelessness Prevention Week is led by Shelter WA, the peak housing body for homelessness and affordable housing, and funded by the Department for Child Protection & Family Support and Lotterywest.

Several activities are planned for the week including an Industry Breakfast to discuss solutions to housing and homelessness, the annual Homelessness Health Soup Kitchen, a Humans of Western Australia photography exhibition and a ‘Jammin’ session with Ella Munro in Brookfield Place.

Chantal Roberts is the Executive Officer of Shelter WA and she joined us in the studio.
