Housing and Mental Health Prospects

Monday 27th May / presented by Jeff Bullen

Though there is an obvious understanding in the bi-directional relationship between mental health and housing and homelessness, our perspective on how major life events and a person's circumstances can affect long-term housing prospects and mental health assessment respectively remains incomplete.

To address these issues, understanding people’s transitions through the housing and mental health systems, including their housing histories and the range of factors that have influenced their aspirations for and choices of housing, aids to educate people on these under-represented topics.

The Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute are themselves assessing all possible links and circumstances that can affect access to both housing and mental health services.

AHURI Professional Services manager Dr. Nicola Brackertz joined RTRFM to discuss this topic.
