Indigenous Player Alliance’s Des Headland & Dr Sean Gorman

Thursday 28th March / presented by Jeff Bullen

The words RACISM and FOOTBALL are once again hitting the headlines in unfortunately familiar proximity. Racist comments on an Instagram post featuring Indigenous West Coast Eagles player, Liam Ryan, once again bring White Australian Hegemony right back to a very stark reality.
The Mag’s Jeff Bullen was joined by author, academic and Indigenous Australian Rules footy specialist Dr Sean Gorman and chair of the Indigenous Player Alliance and former AFL champion Des Headland for an in depth chat on the state of the game in 2019, the recurrent divisive reality of social media and the steadfast work of the Indigenous Player Alliance.
