It’s fun to learn at the Y.A.C.W.A! (FITTER | HAPPIER)

Thursday 7th September / presented by Antonino Tati

The Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) works in enhancing positive attitudes towards young people, focusing on developing Western Australia into a community where all young people are included and engaged with, ensuring that their human rights are being maintained in the process. They aspire in creating a community that values young people, specifically in their skills and knowledge and they ground themselves upon four guiding principles: respect, equity, integrity & the celebration of diversity
to guaranteeing that the youth culture are engaging themselves correctly within society.

Funded by The Department of Health, the Youth Educating Peers (YEP) is a flagship youth project created by YACWA, and is aimed to educate, empower and evolve young people’s perceptions, behaviours and attitudes towards sex, sexual health, and other blood borne viruses.

Julia Morgan and Kai Schweizer, are crew members of YACWA, and they joined us in the studio this morning to discuss what YEP is all about, and what work they intend in doing to improve the surroundings and attitudes in our youth culture of today.
