Keating v Kerry

Thursday 29th October / posted by Chris Wheeldon

Respected by most, feared by some and criticised by a vocal and powerful minority; few journalists have attracted as much scrutiny as Kerry O’Brien.

The ABC’s Barrie Cassidy has previously described him as “absolutely forensic: [and] probably the hardest interviewer for a politician to shake off.”

Despite this, former Prime Minister Paul Keating has — since 2013 —consented to continued conversations with O’BRIEN.

This November sees the release of Keating — perhaps the most comprehensive look at Mr. Keating’s career we’re ever likely to get.

RTRFM’s Cameron McAloon  spoke to  Kerry O’Brien about the book.

He started by asking him just what new information the book tells us about Paul Keating.

We’re talking politics this hour on ‘The Mag’, specifically Kerry O’Brien’s soon-to-be released biography on former Prime Minister Paul Keating.

The book follows on from an earlier documentary series involving the pair originally broadcast in 2013.

In this second part of their conversation RTRFM’s Cameron McAloon [Cameron Mac-a-loon] asks Kerry about the mythology that’s sprung up around Paul Keating since the end of his Prime Ministershp.
