Long Road To Recognition (via Fremantle)

Tuesday 11th March / presented by James Hall

Yesterday marked a historic day for the City of Fremantle, with the opening of its' first Aboriginal Cultural Centre.

The centre at Arthur Head has long been a dream for Aboriginal people in and around Fremantle, and will recognise the unique contribution to the local community and our country.

The opening also coincided with a walk and concert for the Journey of Recognition, an epic walk across Australia, building support to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Peoples in the Constitution.

Momentum has been building along the way to a referendum to recognise our true history and remove racial discrimination from our founding document.

Campaigners have travelled nearly 15,000km’s so far, covering all parts of Australia – and one of them’s with James Hall this morning…

And the City of Fremantle’s TBC is here too…
