Luke Williams gets Down and Out in Paradise

Monday 16th September / presented by Graeme Watson

Journalist Luke Williams is a two time Walkley award winning journalist with a knack for finding strange stories, but the most intriguing stories he shares are from his own life.

His first book The Ice Age: A Journey Into Crystal-Meth Addiction was highly acclaimed, now he returns with another chapter of his life.

Down and Out in Paradise: East West Sex Death sees Williams flying to Kuala Lumpur while coming down off crystal meth without plans or much cash. What followed was a three year adventure in opium, Buddhism, sex work, Bali, India, a prison and then - a psych ward. He hopes it makes for good reading.

Down and Out in Paradise: East West Sex Death is out now from publisher Echo.

All live musical performances are included in our podcasts with the express permission of artists, who reserve all other rights in their music. All music used in our podcasts is licensed under an APRA Community Broadcasting license agreement.
