Marcus Whale explores the boundaries of the body on new album Ecstasy

Gadigal Country/Sydney-based musician and performer Marcus Whale has released his new album Ecstasy on his own record label, Blue Void.

Channeling “ecstactic” art traditions and points of inspiration, Whale draws on experiences at outdoor raves, Renaissance art, Madonna and more on the album.

Ecstasy stretches conventions of electronic music and the human voice past their usual breaking points, exploring what Marcus describes as “the pleasure that goes beyond the self, that undoes the self and draws towards the void.”
