Melve delves into jazz

Wednesday 31st October / presented by Warren Kimble

Local jazz group Melve are set to release their debut record "Volume One: Recorded Live" after some friends saw them playing at the Subiaco Farmers Markets and decided they wanted to record the 5-piece at the School of Audio and Engineers in Northbridge. The group played together throughout their 4 years as fellow students at WAAPA. In their 4th and final year at the Academy, the 5 found it became a natural collaboration between them to write and perform together and Melve was formed.

Austin and Sam from the band joined Warren on Saturday Jazz to chat about their jazz music idols, the bands formation and their performance next Friday 9th November at RTRFM's Courtyard Club Series, in a special collaboration with the Perth International Jazz Festival.

The group will be playing the opening slot at 5pm at the Courtyard Club. Entry is free so make sure to get down to the State Theatre Centre Courtyard to catch very special performance from local jazz super group Melve.
