Musical Virtuoso, Ray Chen

Ray Chen had been called a musical virtuoso. At 25, the jet-seating violinist has been recognised as one of the brightest stars in a new generation of classical musicians.

He began learning violin at 4 and was invited to play at the 1998 Winter Olympics when he was 8. This started a life long love affair with touring the world.

Born in Taiwan, and raised and musically trained in Australia, Chen returns to Australia in a couple of weeks for his First National Recital tour.

Rhian Todhunter spoke to Ray from his temporary home in Philadelphia...
