New Greens Senator Jordon Steele-John Replaces Scott Ludlam

Monday 24th July / presented by Jane Hebiton

The Greens have had a tough couple of weeks.

The party’s lost Senators' Scott Ludlam and Larissa Waters because they hold dual citizenships.

Section 44 of the constitution disqualifies people from holding office if they hold a dual or plural citizenship.

But it looks like Ludlam’s replacement’s been found.

It’s 22 year-old disability advocate Jordon Steele-John.

And he’s set to become Australia’s youngest Senator.

He says he’s excited to be an advocate for youth and disability and has many goals to achieve. There’s some process to get through first to make it happen.

Greens Senator Jordon Steele-John is with us to look to the future.
