October 19th Marks 3rd Global Peer Supporters’ Day

October 19 is Global Peer Supporters’ Celebration Day. To mark the day, RTRFM’s Jane Hebiton chatted with Cyrenian House Peer Support Plus workers Marisha and John and Project Worker Vanessa Stasiw about how people in our local community are recovering from alcohol and other drug (AOD) addiction.

Peer Support Plus is a project powered by participants who have come through their own recovery process with Cyrenian House and Marisha and John share a part of their own story and how being involved in Peer Support, both as recipients of peer support and recent training to become Peer Support Workers has contributed to their personal recovery story.
