Online bullying on the rise?

Thursday 13th February / presented by Fiona Bartholomaeus

In light of Safer Internet Day recently occurring, we have done some research about bullying in Australia and discovered that approximately one in five young people under eighteen have reported experiencing online bullying in any one year and many more that go unreported .There are many forms of bullying, such as verbal, physical, social and cyberbullying all with almost equal effects on the target emotionally. Joining us now is Associate Professor Sharyn Burns from the school of public health at Curtin University to try to help us understand the reasons for the increase in bullying as well as some of the reasoning behind this heinous act.
