Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company presents ‘Operation Boomerang’

Created in 2020 through Yirra Yaakin’s Yirra Yaarnz Writers’ Group, ‘Operation Boomerang‘ is a family yarn about a coming together despite all their differences to support their ageing matriarch. A play not just about living on your own terms – but dying on your own terms.

Operation Boomerang was developed from the playwright’s (Bruce Denny) personal experience placing his mother and other elderly relatives into aged care, and his participation in a role play for medical students exploring the importance for many Aboriginal people of returning to Country when they know their time is near.

Directed by Ian Moopa Wilkes and Dr Lynette Narkle, Operation Boomerang will be showing at Subiaco Arts Centre from October 4-19.
