PEN Perth: at the intersection of writing and politics.

PEN international is a global organisation, founded in London in 1921. PEN defends responsible freedom of expression, supports writers in prison, protects a free press, celebrates literature’s role across the globe, and promotes the linguistic rights of minorities.

There are more than a hundred chapters across the globe,  including here in Perth. Robert Wood has been the Chair of PEN Perth for three and a half years and is about to step down from the role. RTRFM’s Danae Gibson chatted  with Robert Wood about the organisation and its impact ahead of a poetry event on Monday 9 August.
