PETA Takes The Fight To Greyhound Racing

Whilst most people will take the time to reflect upon the strong bond with their canine companions during International Dog Day, a dark veil still remains cast across the darker element of the human and hound relationship.

Greyhound Racing, continues to generate millions of dollars part of Australia’s gambling revenue in the states that still allow it. The People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA) and their amassed supporter base of over six million members worldwide, have made progress to expose the industry via public outcry, labelling the cruelty and mistreatment of racing Greyhounds within the alleged sport as Death In The Fast Lane.

On The Record presenter Madeleine Lombardi is joined in the studio with PETA Representative Aleesha Naxakis, to discuss the implications surrounding reported dog deaths in the industry, including whether Greyhound Racing is still a thriving element in Australian society, and what people can do to protect the welfare of Greyhounds.
