Pets in Practice

Monday 12th February / presented by Naomi Smith

You might think your dog is a genius for being able to follow a number of commands, or your cat for being incredibly observant of what time of day the food appears in their bowl… but did you know our fur babies possess a number of amazing abilities?

Some studies have indicated that dogs can sniff out cancer as well as being able to detect low blood sugar and impending seizure in diabetic children.

As for cats, some believe they are able to predict earthquakes, pregnancy, and even death.

A number of different kinds of animals are able to provide emotional support for those who deal with various mental illnesses and conditions – not to mention service animals who serve differently abled people.

Our vet/mate PIP HODGEN from the North Perth Vet Centre knows a whole lot about animals and can tell us a bit more about talented critters…
