PICA encourages Self Care in the Arts

Wednesday 10th October / presented by Simon Beaton

As a part of mental health week, art therapist Jen and PICA representative Zoe joined Simon on The Mag this morning to discuss the process of arts therapy and engaging in art to feel better. They talked about an upcoming interactive and friendly forum that equips artists and arts administrators with handy tools to look after their mental health. This free, open forum called Self Care in the Arts is happening tonight, October 10 6pm at PICA and aims to create a safe space for people to find out where to go to find support and resources, as well as to break the stigma around mental health in the arts. They also will officially launch Cuppa Club, a monthly platform at PICA for people in the arts to come together with a cup of tea and support one another.
