PREMIERE: Peppermint Showers do Mopey Karaoke

Tuesday 25th June / presented by Taylah Strano

Two years on from the release of their debut EP Joy Boy, local dream pop five-piece Peppermint Showers have readied their first full-length album, Mopey Karaoke.

Recorded across 5 different home studios in both WA and the USA by principal songwriters and original band members Darren Stapley and Sandon French, the duo have created a truly 21st century record, not letting distance impact the momentum of creation as recordings were continuously sent to and fro, allowing for freedom of experimentation without crushing time constraints.

The result is a densely layered record of subdued, melancholic yet uplifting dreamy alt- pop, incorporating elements of ambient composition, psychedelia and indie rock, resulting in a debut album as diverse as it is impressive.
