PREMIERE: Timothy Nelson’s ‘super-pop’ project Indoor Fins reveals debut EP

Wednesday 17th June / posted by Taylah Strano

West Australian songwriting stalwart Timothy Nelson has shared the debut EP form his new psych-pop outfit Indoor Fins.

Amber Arcades features four tracks of the feel-good, high energy variety, with influences from classic 70's prog rock through to modern French electro pop.

Hear Timothy Nelson talk about single Energy here.

Despite the fun infection sound, Nelson says lyrically, this release stems from a much darker place, "I did a bit of soul searching, there was a lot going on in my head I’d not addressed for a long time and I think it all just collided in one go.
"In the midst of it all, I did a tonne of writing. I was questioning so much about who I was, that I think I started digging a lot deeper lyrically. These four songs are like little vignettes into where my head was at.”

Amber Arcades is officially out this Friday, but you can hear the full release here first at RTRFM.
