Pressure put on Environment Minister to rip up Scarborough Gas Project paperwork

There’s a push to stop the Scarborough Gas Project, a joint venture from BHP and Woodside, located off the coast of the Burrup Peninsula in the state’s north.

It was just last week the International Energy Agency declared no new oils, gas or coal developments should be considered, if we’re to meet the net zero emissions target by 2050.

The Conservation Council of Western Australia’s Maggie Wood joined Breakfast with Taylah to update us on the latest developments in the project.

Wood joined the Breakfast program following a demonstration outside the Minister for Environment and Climate Action Amber-Jade Sanderson’s offices. Minister Sanderson is expected to sign off on the next stage of the project shortly.
