Red Light Therapy

Monday 18th March / presented by Jane Hebiton

Lighting is generally something we associate with aesthetics, but what if lighting not only had the power to dazzle, but also heal?

Over the past few years, Red Light Therapy has been trialed in Tasmania as a possible means of treating the effects of the currently incurable neurodegenerative condition, Parkinson’s disease.

This year, Australia-wide "proof-of-concept" clinical trials are being introduced, expanding the sample size and accelerating the research surrounding what is ostensibly a bucket with red LED lights.

Trial co-coordinator and University of Sydney Senior Lecturer of Anatomy & Histology Dr. Ann Liebert joined RTRFM to tell us more.
