Restoration of the Arts

Friday 31st March / presented by Gemma Sidney

The Federal Government’s reinstated funding to the Australia Council, funding that had been formerly stripped by Prime Minister Tony Abbott

WA Labor has assumed power, having announced an arts and culture policy before the election.

The WA Chamber of Arts and Culture ran a passionate campaign to ensure we all knew that art improves lives and many heard that message.

Now WA’s peak membership body for visual artists Artsource aims to maintain the momentum.

One of its Board Members, and an artist herself, Penny Bovell, along with Artsource Membership and Development Manager Jane King joined Artbeat to discuss.
