Rewind on RTRFM – 6 August 2021
The first week of August is National Homelessness Week, and so it’s fitting that this episode of Rewind begins with the story of someone who has experienced WA’s housing crisis as a rough sleeper, an advocate, and a support provider.
Josh Serafini prepares meals for up to 250 struggling people each week. He’s now a qualified chef, but he spent twenty years experiencing homelessness himself. On the Record’s Fiona Bartholomaeus caught up with Josh to talk about his experiences, and his work supporting rough sleepers with the City of South Perth.
Next, we take a closer look at viral TikTok choreography and who gets the credit for it. Breakfast host Taylah Strano digs deep into the murky legal world of dance copyright with Senior Lecturer in Dance Jill Vasbinder.
Finally, a meaty interview between Talks Producer Danae Gibson and Htwe Htwe Thien about Myanmar’s prolonged state of emergency. Dr Thien, a friend of The Swing, breaks down General Min Aung Hlaing’s self-promotion to Prime Minister.
