Gina Williams Saves Language in Song

Friday 16th September / presented by Graeme Watson

Gina Willaims grew up not knowing anything about her history, her process of discovery led her to pass on that education to others.

Gina is a Balladong (Noongar) daughter, and some years ago wrote a welcome song – written in a rare, beautiful language, with very few fluent speakers left.

It’s called Wanjoo’ and Gina joined Artbeat to discuss the inspiration and impact of the beautiful song.
