Senator Dean Smith – McKinnon Prize Winner

Tuesday 6th November / presented by Teri Campbell

In recent political climates, it can be pretty easy to view our politicians in a not-so-positive light. It can also be said that there’s a rising level of public anxiety about politicians and political life.

The McKinnon Prize was introduced last year to spark a national conversation about the role of politicians and public aspirations for leadership in Australia.

Teri Campbell caught up with Senator Dean Smith, a liberal party member and representative for Western Australia in the Senate, took the McKinnon prize for Political Leader of the Year last year for his bipartisan leadership on same sex marriage.

Anyone can nominate for the Prize and nominations will remain open until 6 December 2018. For further information and to nominate visit: www.mckinnonprize.org.au.
