Shaping The Fractured Self Through Words + Poetry

Friday 23rd June / presented by Annie Morris

Heather Taylor Johnson's book Shaping The Fractured Self delves into an understanding of trauma and the words used to describe it. It includes a number of Australia's finest poets (28 to be exact) who live with pain and chronic illness, showcasing how poetry can expose an important connection between the body and mind.

Heather will be putting on a workshop entitled The Poetry of Bodily Trauma and how to Contain its Explosion, guiding participants on how to find language for the unspeakable during this years Perth's Winter Arts Festival.

The two writing master classes ran by Johnson will be commencing on July 23rd at The University of Western Australia.
