Shelton’s Act for Peace

I imagine, last night, you were asleep in your own bed – safe and sound – yet in our waking hours we currently live in a climate of terrorism fear.

Besides, it has been estimated that a staggering 1.2 million Iraqis are now without their beds and a secure roof over their heads. And these numbers are climbing.

International Aid agency Act for Peace is putting their efforts into responding to the Iraq and Syrian crisis on the ground, providing humanitarian help and increasing global awareness.

From working in Cambodia to relocating to Libya to report on the civil war, Australian photographer Tracey Shelton has now just returned home from covering this worsening situation in Iraq with Act for Peace.

Tracey spoke to me about the damaging effects of the displaced Iraqi communities through her own lens…
