Song for Ms Dhu

Tuesday 17th January / presented by Jessica Warriner

You may remember a tragic case in 2014 of a young Aboriginal woman passing away in police custody in Port Hedland. In mid-December, the findings of the coronial inquest into her death were handed down.

FELIX RIEBL of Cat Empire was working in the Pilbara with an Indigenous girl’s choir when he heard about the case.

He has since produced a song in conjunction with Marliya singers from the Gondwana Indigenous Children’s Choir in remembrance of the event and Ms Dhu.

We spoke to FELIX about it earlier.
