Speaking Beyond The Silver Screen with Dr Mary Tomsic

Friday 27th October / presented by James Hall

Dr Mary Tomsic here to discuss her book Beyond The Silver Screen; A history of women, filmmaking and film culture in Australia, 1920-1990 (Melbourne University Press, 2017)

A look into the women who have made their mark in the film industry since the 1920s

Tomsic brings to life some of the quietly kept movements within the Australian film community, revealing some prominent female figures who have been somewhat left unsaid.

An interesting and important read along with all of Dr Tomsic's other work which we highly recommend.
