Sunset Cities; A Collaborative LP

Friday 1st March / presented by Emily Jane

Skomes, one half of the hip-hop jazz-soul duo So.crates, joined Emily on The Mag. He gave us all the details about the new album Sunset Cities; a collaborative piece with Nelson Dialect and Alnitak Kid. Skomes gives some insight on the formatting of the album, with one side of the vinyl representing light, and the other being darkness.

We find out the meaning behind the eclectic nature of the album, along with Skomes' gig highlights, and his thoughts on the power of music. Skomes tells us about their music videos, and where song inspiration emerged from. The beatmaker also shares the frantic tale of the recording process, involving the other half of So.crates, Cazeaux (but don't worry, it has a happy ending).

With the many creators of Sunset Cities spread out, their touring plans are not extensive as of yet, however Skomes will be present at the Melbourne Hip Hop Festival so stay tuned...
