Supanova

Friday 10th June / presented by Antonino Tati

Supanova is Australia’s biggest pop-culture convention.

With everything from anime and gaming to comic books and sci-fi literature, the event draws enormous crowds each year.

It also requires an enormous amount of work.

Event Director Daniel Zachariou is one of the people there to make sure everything comes together–and nothing catches fire.

But he’s drawn a bit of heat himself recently when a petition he signed in opposition to the federal government’s Safe Schools program caught the eye of the public.

He joined Antonino Tati to give us an idea of what it’s like to put together an event like Supanova the expectations, frustrations, and the many challenges on the road to the event.
