The Animals in That Country – Laura Jean Mackay

Australian author Laura Jean McKay recently won the top prize at the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards for her debut novel, The Animals in That Country, a dystopian story in which a viral pandemic in Australia gives humans the ability to understand … and talk with … animals.

This weekend Mackay will take part in a panel for the Perth Festival Literature & Ideas program called Burdened Beasts: Stories about Humans with Donna Mazza. The Animals in That Country is published by Scribe.
