The Benefits Of SARC

Friday 9th November / presented by Taylah Strano

The pervasive presence of sexual assault and violence within society can have a truly damaging affect on it's victims and the community. In order to rectify this, The Sexual Assault Resource Centre (SARC) provides FREE and CONFIDENTIAL 24-hour emergency services including medical care, a forensic examination and counselling support to people who have been sexually assaulted within a two week period.

SARC manager, Kylie Laughton speaks with Taylah Strano on Breakfast to discuss the harsh reality of the epidemic, the importance of their services and the centre's lack of funding.

They are joined in the studio by local music legends Felicity Groom and Dan Howls to talk about the SARC Benefit concert - a fundraising event organised to raise money for the centre and increase awareness of their services. The event features a knock-out line-up of some of Perth's best musicians who are volunteering their time and talents to support this worthy cause.

SARC Benefit will kick off at Rock Rover on the 9th of November. grab your tickets here.
