The Digital Gap

Monday 13th July / presented by Chris Wheeldon

Accessibility to online platforms can help us navigate employment, education and retail services, but with 20% of people in Australia affected by a disability or older – this is proving challenging.

Contributing to society is important for many of us, and as one women knows – Founder of the Digital Gap Initiative – Gisele Mesnage, – taking on Coles became a landmark case to do this.

Gisele became known as the blind woman who took on Cole’s supermarket and proved, while the world is increasingly becoming digitised, the digital gap is widening.

Reporter Chris Mason spoke to her and started by asking why is this such an issue for those with disabilities.
