The Gallery of Glorious Sound

Friday 6th May / posted by Chris Wheeldon

As one last hurrah before the Western Australian Museum closes for refurbishment, we’re throwing a party to soften the blow of its four year closure.

It’s called A Moment in Time and within that we’ll experience a large collection of out of this world instruments to woo and wonder you – you’ll find them in The Gallery of Glorious Sound.

To finish the day, many of the instruments will be played in a special one-off performance, which will encapture and express the beauty of their foreign and unheard sounds.

Former RTRFM Music Director and current WA New Music Archive Project Officer Dr Adam Trainer, alongside Artifaktory Director Scot McDonald and archivist/musician Meg Travers joined Kylie Sturgess on Artbeat to talk about their involvement in A Moment in Time and offer a little preview of the instruments that'll be on show.
