The Sigrid Thornton Factor

Monday 7th April / posted by Chris Wheeldon

It’s starting to look like the most successful show that the Black Swan Theatre has ever produced – and if you’re very quick, you can get some of the last seats available.

Sigrid Thornton, Australian icon and star of films such as The Man From Snowy River, Little Oberon, and popular TV shows like Seachange – plays the lead vamp, Blanche DuBois in Kate Cherry’s production of A Streetcar Named Desire. It’s passionate, it’s tense, it’s wild - and it’s selling out fast.

Kylie Sturgess spoke to Sigrid about her career, the challenges of playing one of the most celebrated women’s roles – and the magic of the “Sigrid Factor.”
