Understanding the Voice to Parliament: Thomas Mayo

The Indigenous Voice to Parliament referendum is this Saturday, October 14.

The question that will be put to Australian voters will require a Yes or No response to whether an Indigenous Voice to Parliament — which would act as an independent advisory body for First Nations people — should be enshrined in the country’s constitution.

On Breakfast, Pamela Boland has been checking in and chatting to folks who know what going on and can keep us in the loop, such as Dr Hannah McGlade and Nolan Hunter.

In this chat, Pam speaks with Thomas Mayo, an Indigenous Leader who alongside journalist Kerry O’Brien, authored a handbook that covers some of the most frequently asked questions about altering the constitution and establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.
